I love the work I do
Meaning-finding, joy-finding and healing is part of my day-to-day life as a mentor and coach. I focus on mentoring deep change and encouraging new growth.
I call my company Transformative Practices. The techniques (practices) I teach and share, when done regularly (practiced), lead to and sustain, a life filled with greater meaning.
My MA in Transpersonal Psychology focused on strengthening and learning the time-tested practical skills and techniques which facilitate all forms of personal transformation and growth.
What I Share
The techniques and tools that I share are ones I have used on my own journey and continue to use daily. These techniques are ‘best-practices’ from a variety of modern and ancient traditions. For example, in functional MRI’s, the types of meditation I teach are shown to have fast and lasting impact on our brains – bringing clarity and calm. For me, it’s about what works! And ‘what works’ is time tested. What works is called by a variety of names in current jargon and in ancient teachings. I teach and practice the essence of approaches and habits that do change our lives.
Born on Canada’s West Coast, I grew up comforted and supported by an abundant lush natural world.
From the beginning I have been a creative. From youth I sought multi-disciplinary perspectives on meaning, purpose and esoteric subjects.
For 25 years I worked as a manager, director and academic in Central Canada’s corporate world. Eighteen years ago I stepped out of that world to live fully – my own life; free to speak, teach and create.
Gary, my late husband also straddled the professional world and the world of meaning. As my beloved and best friend, he is deeply missed.
What I hope for
I want us all to feel capable to help ourselves both in dealing with the challenges of daily life and in feeling we are living a meaningful life – that we are content, happy and doing what we are meant to do on earth.
Our work is about learning to find and maintain a clear centre, surrender our thoughts and rely increasingly on intuitive connection. With intuitive connection we can listen and feel the promptings towards ‘what wants to happen next’, rather than what we ‘think’ we should do. These are easy things to say but very hard to achieve. I’ve had many powerful insights . . . and I am still practicing. The path is inspiring and challenging. This is the kind of challenge I wake up wanting to explore every day!
The greatest energy I experience is at my learning edge and the learning edge of clients. I know the power of direct insight, new understanding, breakthrough. I love this edge! I love the edge enough to suspend common beliefs and open myself to mystery.
That said, I continue to attend to the ‘best practices’ of new and old traditions as a foundation. I attend to these ‘best practices’ because they are Transformative Practices!
